Doubling Down on Talent to Drive Growth.

Buro Happold is already home to some of the built environment industry’s leading minds. But with an ambitious goal to double their headcount and place talent at the core of their growth strategy, they recognised the need for a stronger, more effective Employee Value Proposition (EVP).

Our role? To bring their 2024 EVP to life through a refreshed careers section on their website, creating a platform that would not only attract top-tier candidates but also showcase the unique culture and diversity that define Buro Happold.

Elevating Recruitment Through Experience

Buro Happold asked us to reimagine their careers section, aligning it with their new EVP while seamlessly integrating with Tribepad, their new Applicant Tracking System (ATS). Working alongside Brandgym, who provided copy and media, and Buro Happold’s in-house video and photography team, we were tasked with crafting a web experience that:

  • Captures the culture, inclusivity, and diversity of the business.
  • Provides a seamless user journey from browsing the website to applying for roles via the ATS.
  • Supports their ambitious recruitment goals by attracting candidates who align with their values and vision.

Seamless, Cohesive, and Impactful

We set out to design a careers experience that felt distinctly part of the Buro Happold brand while standing apart just enough to resonate with prospective candidates. With support from the global graphics team, we introduced a refined, monographic colour palette to elevate the careers branding, ensuring consistency across digital touchpoints and the broader EVP initiative.

Rather than reinvent the wheel, we repurposed and extended existing components from the website. This decision allowed editors to easily manage the new section while keeping the experience intuitive and familiar.

A User-Centred Experience

Our development focused on ensuring job vacancies were deeply embedded into the candidate’s journey, allowing them to:

  • Discover related roles dynamically, no matter where they were on the site.
  • Navigate seamlessly from exploring opportunities to applying for roles, with fewer clicks and interruptions.
  • Engage with unified sector and services content that aligned with their interests.

The result? A suite of dynamic components that delivered a cohesive, user-friendly experience, making it easier for Buro Happold to connect with the right candidates.

Synchronising Delivery

One of the project’s key challenges was synchronising the delivery of the new ATS with the EVP website and other digital touchpoints. By working closely with all stakeholders, we delivered a solution that aligned with Buro Happold’s objectives and supported their growth ambitions.

Our refreshed careers section not only reflects the unique culture and values of Buro Happold but also supports their mission to grow in a way that resonates beyond their immediate industry. The end result is a website that balances usability with branding, setting the stage for their ambitious future.
